Mary DeFeo was my neighbor and I've known her my whole life. She was the neighborhood Mom. She threw the best Christmas parties- whenever I think of my best Christmas memories they involved those parties. Her pizza was the only pizza I liked until I was 14. The warmth that she created inside their home made me never want to leave even just to walk next door to my own. Her daughters were like my older sisters growing up and always took the best care of me. Even though sometimes we did get in trouble, her laughter and kindness was abundant! I will always remember her beautiful gardens and saying hi to her whenever I came back to Woodcrest to visit, watching to see what she was planting each year. I couldn't have asked to grow up next to a better family, and I know this had everything to do with her and the kind of mother she was. She is so loved and I will remember her always. Love "Goober"
