Obituary of Theresa A. DiGirolamo

Theresa A. DiGirolamo, age 86 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. Born on November 21, 1933 in Trenton, New Jersey, she was the daughter to the late Luigi and Theresa DiMatteo DiGirolamo. She was a long-time resident of Bridgeport, and a Harding High School graduate, class of 1953. She was an avid traveler who traveled the world (including Italy many times over, which was her favorite) and owned her own travel agency for the majority her life. She had a love for her family beyond measure and devoted her life to her nieces and nephews. She was truly a second mother and grandmother to all. She was a loving sister, amazing aunt, devoted great aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had an amazing knack for storytelling; especially when she spoke about her many trips around the world, you would genuinely think you were there with her. She was the most honest, genuine and generous person known.

Theresa is survived by her brother Gaetano "Toke" DiGirolamo (Lucy) of Bridgeport, sister Marie Ambrosini of Monroe, sister in law Selale DiGirolamo of Turkey, nieces Teresa Muscarella (Pasquale), Michele Romeo (Joseph), nephews, Gaetano DiGirolamo (Dawn), Mark DiGirolamo, David DiGirolamo, Dino DiGirolamo (Maria), Robert DiGirolamo (Pam), Gustavo DiGirolamo (Kathleen), Joseph DiGirolamo, John DiGirolamo and many great nieces and nephews, including the two loves of her life Joey Ambrosini and Gianna Muscarella.

She was predeceased by her brothers Angelo DiGirolamo, Gustavo DiGirolamo, her loving brother in law Joseph "Bucky" Ambrosini, her niece Lisa DiGirolamo and nephews, Louis DiGirolamo, and Anthony DiGirolamo.

Due to the concerns about social gatherings affecting us all at this time, funeral and interment services will be held privately for the immediate family and close friends.
