Obituary of Domenick A. Marini

Domenick A. Marini, age 66, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Clarke) Marini. Born in Bridgeport on October 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Elena C. Di Tirro and Angelo Marini. Domenick was the owner and operator of Vincent’s Italian Restaurant of Shelton for over 21 years, where he mentored and educated many who went on to establish businesses of their own. He was a reliable source of endless wisdom. He was an avid sportsman and some of his passions included making a perfect pizza, growing hot peppers, winemaking, and celebrating his Italian-American heritage. His greatest enjoyment, however, was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored above all else. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Kathleen of 47 years, other survivors include his loving children, Vincent Marini and his wife Patricia of Trumbull and Victoria Marini Bowley and her husband James of St. George, VT; his cherished grandchildren, Dante, Gia and Vincent Marini and Domenica, Angelo and Gavin Bowley; his brother-in-law James Clarke and his wife Debbie of Trumbull; and his best friends Charlie and Marlene Esposito of Trumbull, who were always there for him. His family would like to thank his long-term caregiver, Alissa Santangelo, for her devotion, compassion, and friendship.
