Obituary of Chrisanthy Eliopoulos Gaudett
Chrisanthy Eliopoulos Gaudett, age 77, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Thomas Gaudett. Born in Bridgeport on August 23, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Constantine and Anna Olejarcisk Eliopoulos and was a lifelong Bridgeport resident.
Chris was a devout Catholic who looked forward to attending church each Sunday. For decades, she was a parishioner and dedicated volunteer at St. Augustine Cathedral, where she sang in the choir, volunteered at the school, worked in the stable store, and helped at the rectory. Chris was also well known from her time at Stop and Shop in Trumbull, where she worked for over twenty years.
Her greatest accomplishment was her family, whom she loved so much and gave her the strength to fight to the end. She cherished the opportunity to watch her children and grandchildren grow up and be successful. The many family gatherings that she hosted for holidays will never be the same without her. She was a woman of humble means, but was rich with love. We are all so grateful for the many struggles that she endured in order to make our lives better.
Survivors include her five loving children, Leon Gaudett, Thomas Pocevic (Aziza), Ann Farrington (Kraig Schulz), Elaine Guedes (Joe) and Renee Gaudett, a sister, Susan Eliopoulos, thirteen cherished grandchildren, Amy (Jesse), Thomas (Marcus), Tessa, Michelle (Ben), Jessica, Matthew, Britney, Leah, Ava, Walid, Cooper, Dylan, and Cassidy and two precious great grandchildren, Scott and Isabella. She was predeceased by a brother, Lazarus Eliopoulos.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT 06611. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Augustine Cathedral Parish, 395 Washington Ave., Bridgeport on Thursday 1:15 p.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
