Obituary of Sally R. Giannetta
Saveria (Sally) Rende Giannetta, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Anthony Giannetta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 24, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary Grace Lazaro Rende.
Sally built a beautiful life with her husband of 66 years. She had many passions including tennis, ceramics, and a love of travel. But was happiest at home in her kitchen, entertaining and trying new recipes or making a big pot of gravy while Sergio Franchi plays in the background. She dazzled everyone she met with her style and grace and could light up any room. Being one of 11 children, family was the most important thing in her life. The only thing Sally loved more than her husband and two children, were her 5 grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she was the heart of the family. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her, each and every day.
In addition to her beloved husband Anthony, she is survived her two loving children, Mark Giannetta and his companion Theresa and Tina Silano and her husband Peter, five cherished grandchildren, Danielle (Jessyca), Brittny, Karissa, Taylor and Peter; a brother, Pasquale Rende and his wife Kathy, two sisters, Dolores Scinto and Diane Saracino, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Elvira, Helen, Theresa, Rosemary, Mary, Angie and Joan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
