Obituary of Theresa M. Sobkowich

Theresa M. Perillie Sobkowich, age 78, beloved wife of Lawrence Sobkowich of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Theresa was born on September 14, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Philip E. Perillie and Mary C. Franzo Perillie.

Theresa was a member of the first graduating class with girls at Notre Dame High School. She was a credit manager with Sears for many years before raising her family. She was the rock of her family and was a wonderful cook and enjoyed all the time they spent together. She also loved to travel and was very well read.

In addition to her beloved husband Lawrence of 58 years, survivors include a son, Lawrence M. Sobkowich of Bridgeport, a brother, Philip Perillie of Shelton, two granddaughters, Shelby Lauren Scott and Victoria Lynn Acampora as well as her cousin Carol Bradley of Stratford, who was like a sister. She was predeceased by a daughter, Julieann Acampora.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Patrick Church, 851 North Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

Theresa requested as a Breast Cancer Survivor that in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory be made to Swim Across the Sound, St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
