Obituary of Joseph K. Janusaitis
Joseph K. Janusaitis, age 68, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Detuzzi) Janusaitis. Born in Bridgeport on February 3, 1953, he was a son of the late John S. and Gladys (Foster) Janusaitis. Mr. Janusaitis obtained his undergraduate degree in education from SCSU, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was also president of his class for four years. He then obtained his Master’s degree from Columbia University and was also proud to graduate from the CSS extension school at Harvard University. Joseph began his working career in Special Education as both a teacher and administrator. He later transitioned and devoted his talents to the business world, where he worked for Aetna Property and Casualty, People’s United Bank and most recently for United Illuminating, where he spent many years in Human Resources Training and Development before his retirement. His faith was extremely important to him as a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church where he also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council there. Joseph was an avid fisherman and dog lover, devoted to his three German Shepherds. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Linda of 36 years, he is survived by his loving children, Lori Rossi and her husband David, Michael Dawid Jr. and his wife Vanessa, Justin Janusaitis and his wife Briana, Jason Janusaitis and Caitlin Janusaitis, and his cherished grandchildren, John Georgiopoulos and Miles Dawid.
