Obituary of Maria D. Borges

Maria Duarte Borges, age 72, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Jorge Borges, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born in Ardãos, Boticas, Portugal, on October 18, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Domingos Duarte and Felisbina Gomes.

Maria was a loving wife and mother. She dedicated herself to the care and love of her family the unconditional love she gave and the memories they created will forever live in their hearts. Maria will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two devoted children, a daughter Lisa Borges and a son, Jorge Borges both of Monroe, three sisters, Elsa Monteiro and her husband Massimino, and Francesca do Carmo all of Bridgeport and Benta Ferreira of Newtown, as well as many nieces, nephews, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by brothers, Armando Duarte, Antonio Duarte and Abilio Duarte, and sisters, Otilia Duarte and Laurinda Baia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
