Obituary of Rosalia S. Weingerl
Rosalia Sinko Weingerl, age 93, of Shelton and formerly of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Erich Weingerl, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Yugoslavia on February 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Magdalana (Camplin) Sinko.
Along with her husband and children, they came to the U.S. 65 years ago to make a better life for themselves and Erich being a carpenter along with Rose built their own home in Monroe. She was a retired seamstress for Warnaco and worked hard to provide the best for her family. Rose enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafting and tending to her garden. She would often crochet afghans and donate them for the church fairs. Rose along with her husband were dedicated parishioners of St. Jude Church. But above all things in life, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was her everything. She was at her best when the family was all together. Her smile would light up the room when her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren walked in. Her fondest memories where vacationing and family dinners with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in their hearts. Rose will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Brigitta Byron and her husband Roy of Shelton, three cherished grandchildren, Jason Byron (Heather), Carrie Scalo (Vincent) and Christina Dudeff (David), four adored great grandchildren, Erich & Marc Scalo and Madisyn & Brynley Dudeff, four brothers, Frank Sinko Jr., Karl Sinko, Victor Sinko (Lucy) and Louis Sinko (Carol), as well as several nieces, nephews and relatives here and in Austria.
