Obituary of Barbara O. Wilson

Barbara O’Keefe Wilson, beloved wife of Robert, died July 11, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.  She was born on January 27, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Eugene and Edna O’Keefe.

She attended Union Hill High School in Union City, New Jersey and St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Hoboken, New Jersey.  She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.S. in Nursing. 

Along with raising three children, she worked as a nursing instructor in New Jersey and Connecticut. She also worked in an oncology office and later with the Bridgeport VNA as a hospice nurse. 

Her family was the center of her life. Barbara loved the Lord, her husband, three children and eight lovely grandchildren.  She was a member of Black Rock Church in Fairfield, CT.

In addition to her devoted husband Bob of 63 years, survivors include three loving children Scott Wilson and his wife Lisa of Iowa City, IA, Carol Tusch and her husband Paul of Stamford, CT, and Jennifer Treash and her husband Steve of Newtown, CT and eight cherished grandchildren Nick Wilson, Blake Wilson, Abbie Wilson, Katie Tusch, Paul Tusch (and wife Kara) Robert Tusch, Caileigh Treash and Parker Treash. She is also survived by her sister Maureen Cimochowski and husband Bill, and nieces Jill Martin and Allison Stevens.  She was predeceased by siblings Edna O’Keefe Galione and David O’Keefe.

A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT.
