Obituary of Carol A. Amaral
Carol A. (Hayden) Amaral, age 82, of Shelton and formerly of Newtown passed away peacefully on Friday July 15, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Marcus Amaral. Born in Bridgeport on September 16, 1939 she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mildred (Hill) Hayden. Mrs. Amaral had been employed by the Newtown School System, where she worked as a custodian for many years. More recently she enjoyed working as a healthcare aid. Carol was a social butterfly and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was known as the Carol Burnett of Split Rock, where she has built many friendships. She was an avid shopper and also had found great enjoyment traveling with her husband. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sisters, Winnie Clark of Trumbull and Marilyn Natlo of Milford, her brother, Russell Hayden of Shelton and devoted nieces, Kim Testani of Monroe and Cheryl Conte of Trumbull, who were like daughters to Carol. She is also survived by many additional nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. In addition to her beloved husband Marcus, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Lewis and George Hayden, her sisters, Barbara Freer and Fay Honcharik and her first husband, Charles Geal.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Monroe Center Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
