Obituary of Rose M. Cockayne
Rose Teresa Micinilio Cockayne, age 97, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Charles W. Cockayne, Jr., died on Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on August 4, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Arcangelo and Antoinette Basso Micinilio. Rose worked at the General Electric Company where she met her husband, Charles. She was a member of the St. Theresa Church Confraternity and was an active member of the Council Catholic Women and a past Treasurer and President of the Diocese of Bridgeport Council Catholic Women. For over 10 years, she worked at Catholic Charities in the nutrition and day care programs.
Survivors include two devoted daughters, Suzanne Cockayne, and Alice McLaine and her husband James, all of Trumbull; loving grandchildren, Dana L. McLaine and Jimmy Picard of Trumbull, and Charles E. McLaine of Derby; three cherished great-grandchildren, Aidan J. McLaine and Morgan J. Picard and Jemma Picard, her sister, Mary Carey, her sister-in-law, Melody Micinilio and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers, James, Michael, Reno, William and Dominick and her sister Sally.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
