Dear Peggy and Family,
We were so sorry to hear about your loss. Gene, as you all know, was the utmost professional. We both worked with Gene for many years, and even though he didn't see Jim as often, he always sent his regards to him during our facility pharmacy meetings. Gene and I loved to share stories about our vacations and upcoming plans. He never failed to mention all of you during these conversations. He was a genuine "gentle man."
To happy memories and to Gene,
Faith and Jim Wajdowicz

The Profession of Pharmacy was fortunate to have Gene as a leader and mentor to many of us as we tried to negotiate our way through the evolving world of pharmaceutical care for residential and institutional seniors. His insights into the business and operational aspects of long term care facilities and corporations serving those facilities were exceptional and highly sought after. He could easily deconvolute their complex and sometimes byzantine corporate business practices. What attracted you to Gene were his soft spoken manner, gentle smile, accumulated wisdom, and his outstretched arms to greet and embrace you with genuine concern. His first question often was “how can I help you?” Gene made the Profession of Pharmacy a better place to practice your skills and enjoy the company of your peers.

My uncle Gene was so kind and always had a soft soul. He was always so kind and welcoming when I was around him. It was so nice to be able to see him this last Christmas and be able to tell him I loved him. I will always remember as a little kid riding in the car with my uncle gene and aunt Peggy listening to mombo #5. Idk where we were going and it didn’t matter. I love you uncle gene you will be missed deeply and I know your looking down on us all. Rest easy.

To Peggy, Mario and Gino - my deepest sympathy to you and all your family. Gene was my "go-to" guy at Value Healthcare and Omnicare. He was a fantastic co-worker - always watching out for the rest of us, a dedicated and skilled pharmacist who cared deeply about the people whom he served, and one of the most honorable men I've ever known.

I've known Gene professionally for a number of years. The first time I met him, he mentioned that he had known my father (who is a retired pharmacist). Besides knowing the business of pharmacy very well, Gene was a very kind man. I always looked forward to talking with him and hearing about his travels. I'm sending my condolences to his family. In my faith, we say "may his memory be for a blessing." I know that Gene will live on in our memories and he's leaving a legacy of love.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Memoli family and all the friends Gene has touched over the years. I met Gene as a charter member of the CT Chapter of ASCP some 25 years ago and quickly realized this guy has an unstoppable love for his family and for his chosen profession of pharmacy. He will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. With sympathy, Michel & Amy Fortin

I couldn't have asked for a better mentor, colleague, or friend. There wasn't a time that we spoke that he didn't bring a smile to my face. I have coined his " highway to healthcare" phrase .The love that he had for his family was unsurmountable. You will be missed greatly, Gene, by all those lives you touched.
