Obituary of Rose Marie Battistelli

Rose Marie D'Andrea Battistelli, age 95, of Shelton and formerly of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in Bridgeport on August 21, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Carmella D'Andrea. Mrs. Battistelli was the former treasurer of the Lake Forest Association and had volunteered at the former Dinan Memorial Center.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who helped raise her grandsons after the passing of their mother.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Raymond J. Battistelli, her daughter-in-law, Loris J. Battistelli, brothers and sisters, Mike D'Andrea, Tony D'Andrea, Joe Dube, Alfred D'Andrea, Donald D'Andrea and Katherine D'Andrea. Survivors include a son Raymond Battistelli of Monroe, two grandchildren, Christopher R. Battistelli and his wife Valerie and Todd L. Battistelli, a great granddaughter, Julia Rose and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
