My heartfelt sympathy to the Smith family. Chip and Mickey were a pleasure to spend time with and have left me with a lasting memory of the brief time spent with them. I'm quiet sure he has left behind wonderful memories to many people who's lives he touched. Life well lived and an honorable legacy. May the families healing be full of grace. Rest In Peace Chip.

I'm saddened by the unexpected loss of Chip, I worked with him for many years, I consider him among the founding fathers of the Generac Industrial dealer network. He put his heart into everything all the time and was a terrific leader and mentor of his peers. I will miss him dearly, he's left a forever lasting impression on me that will always live on. My heart goes out to his family and those that were closest to him.

So sad to hear of this, My condolences to the family first and foremost. While i hadnt seen "chip" in awhile, hes someone I'll never forget in my life. Many moons ago when the generator business was in its infancy we met through a dealer group. He and Elliot were the rocks of the group, but Chip was the leader of the gang as they say. we competed many years for the plaques and trophys and the trips at the time. He and I goofed around a lot as well. I remember the time I got a call from Ishmael. He was asking if i could sell him 1000 kilowatt generator. Being a novice, I fell in to the trap he had set. Walked my way through and replied yes could get what he wanted and all until i asked where it was going. The jig was up then I realized he dogged me on the call. I'll Never forget that and the other laughs we had over it. He was a great guy always willing to help anyone out. He will never be forgotten in my mind. While my own health keeps me from attending, please know my spirit is there for the family and him. One heck of guy that will be forever missed.

Chip lived in the house behind me for years. His dog Chelsea visited my mom frequently and brought her happiness. Chip was a great neighbor. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Our thoughts, prayers, and sympathies.
I had many great memories (and those Chip counseling sesions) over the years, and always felt I was a better person after each one. He had a huge personality, and a huge heart. Me being from the Midwest, we are handshake greeters. The second time meeting chip in the late 1990's, he instantly took my handshake, then pulled me in for a huge and "How you doing brother?" (Sometimes even a kiss on the check). I will miss not ever being able to experience that again but will never forget him.

Family and Friends,
I worked with Chip for decades, he was a great customer and a better friend. One of my favorite memories was visiting Chip and the team at Huntington Power. Every few years I brought in a new salesperson responsible for Huntington Power. Chip always had a fantastic way of making lasting introductions. Chip would sit behind his desk all very serious and start asking the new guy questions. Inevitably the question of price and discount would be asked. Chip would stand up and walk to the corner of his office and ask if he had a large order what discount would he receive. As the newbie tried to say it all depends on…Chip would pull out his Samurai sword and start chopping the air in front of him. The new guy would stop talking in mid-sentence and stare in disbelief. Chip would move in closer and state, “Choose your words carefully”. The stuttering would start and me and Chip would just laugh away! After that ice breaker we would all go to the Italian restaurant down the street and share a wonderful meal and a few bottles of red wine.
I’m going to miss my visits with Chip and all the phone calls we shared. He was a mentor to me, always had wise words and sound wisdom. He’s gone but not forgotten. Chip touched my life, and I will always think of him with fond memories. Rest in peace my friend.

Mickey I am blown away by this news. Although we have not seen each other in years, you and Chip always were on our minds. My Mom talked about the two of you all the time as did I.. I just got off the phone with Frankie and he also sends his condolences. The both of us have never forgotten the good people you are. Chip was a good man to us while my Dad was alive and after. Please know you are in our hearts and in our prayers.. Heaven has gained a true gentleman...
