Obituary of Anna Duda

Anna Molitoris Duda, age 79, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Andrew Duda, Jr., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2023. Born in Bystre, Czechoslovakia on February 3, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Jan and Maria (Cipalova) Molitoris and was a longtime resident of Huntington before moving to Berlin five years ago to live with her daughter.

Anna came to the United States in 1961 with her husband and settled in Bridgeport. They later moved to Huntington after Andrew built their family home and together, they raised their daughters. She was a devout parishioner of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Trumbull where she was active in the Ladies Altar Guild for many years. She was a great cook and an avid gardener who took great pride in her vegetable garden as well as the pickling and canning she enjoyed. Before her retirement, Anna worked at General Electric with over 40 years of dedicated service.

Anna was a selfless person who made her family a priority, especially her grandson Andrew, who was her pride and joy. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Her kindness will be forever remembered by all the people she touched.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim Lee Stribling and her husband David of Kensington, a cherished grandson, Andrew John Stribling, a sister-in-law, Anna Molitoris of Shelton, and two brothers-in-law, John Duda and his wife Betty of Bridgeport and Thomas Duda and his wife Helen of Bridgeport as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, MaryAnn Duda, a brother, Joseph Molitoris and a sister, Maria Hudakova.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Friends may greet the family Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
