Obituary of Evelyn C. Kascak

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Carol Kascak of Trumbull. She peacefully departed this world on September 1, 2023 at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born in New York City on January 30, 1932, to Salvatore Angelica and Gertrude Breyer. She grew up in Yellow Mill Village in Bridgeport and graduated from Harding High School.

Preceding her in death were her father, Salvatore Angelica, her mother, Gertrude Breyer, her step-father, Henry Buffery, her husband, Robert Kascak, her son-in-law, Ralph Amodio, and her brother, Thomas Angelica and half-brother Victor Angelica.

Left to carry her memory forward are her loving daughters, Barbara Kish (Mike), Mary Lynn Homkovics (Mike), and Evie Amodio. Evelyn's impact spanned generations. Her grandchildren: Bobby, Nicole, Brittney, Marisa, Gina, and Danielle, were the recipients of her unconditional love. She was also the proud great-grandmother, "Grandma Ev," to Charlie, John, Avery, Stella, Mason, Luca, Nico, and Mila. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Buffery, her half-siblings Joseph Angelica, Dennis Angelica, Gerald Angelica, Jane Angelica and her sisters-in-law Carol Walton and Martha (Kass) Rice.

Evelyn's daughters were her whole heart and she dedicated her life to taking care of them. They fondly remember her polishing their saddle shoes and pressing their outfits, a nightly ritual that symbolized her unwavering care. Evelyn always lovingly prepared home cooked meals each night and made every holiday full of love and memories. Her legacy of love and devotion will forever remain in our hearts. Evelyn later worked at Dinan Labs, Cryomedics, and Philips Medical Systems.

To honor Evelyn's life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Following the Mass, she will find her eternal rest at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton. In request of the family, visiting hours will be omitted.
