Obituary of Donald N. Scinto

Donald N. Scinto, age 85, of Shelton, beloved husband of Jean Ambrose Scinto, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 25, 2023. Born in Bridgeport on August 11, 1938, he was the son of the late Mario and Mary D'Apice Scinto. Don was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Don started his own machine shop in 1973 after many years in the automotive engine business. Along with his son Anthony, they operated Don Scinto Automotive in Stratford. In recent years, his son has taken over the day-to-day operations. They have proudly served the community and surrounding towns for 50 years and have been recognized by township, state, and from local business organizations.

An avid race car driver for most of his life, Don passed his passion to his wife and children. Together they raced in numerous events throughout New England. He was a member of the NHRA and won a national event.

But above all, he was a dedicated husband and father. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Don will be deeply missed.

In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Jean, survivors include his two loving children, Linda Scinto and her husband Edward J. Sobulefsky and Anthony Scinto and his fiancée Soo Yeon Heo, a sister Dolores Billie, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by a sister Mary Jane Scinto.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will take place on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. directly in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull.
