Obituary of Louis Nicholas Abriola
Louis Nicholas Abriola, age 98, of Fort Myers, Florida, beloved husband of the late Mary Breslin Abriola, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 in Fort Myers. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Josephine (Lucarelli) Abriola.
A U. S. Navy World War II veteran, Lou served his country for four years after graduating from Bassick High School in 1943. He then went on to earn a Business degree from the University of Bridgeport. He was an engineer working in logistics support at Sikorsky Aircraft for 35 years until his retirement. He was also a licensed funeral director. Along with Mary, they resided for thirty years in Trumbull, where they were parishioners of St. Stephen's Church. Lou was an avid golfer who could often be found on the course at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull.
He is survived by his four loving children, John Abriola, Jerry Abriola, Mark Abriola and his wife Lyn and Nancy Ferguson; as well as four grandchildren.
He was predeceasd by two brothers, Nicholas Abriola Jr. and Bernard Abriola.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
