Obituary of Peter Silano
Pietro Silano, age 90 of Trumbull, beloved husband of Maria Feola Silano, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at St. Vincents Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Flumeri, Avellino, Italy on July 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Giovanna Silano.
Pietro was a devoted husband for 72 years and a father for 68 years. He brought his gardening skills over from Italy. Everything from lemons to tomatoes to figs, he grew with ease. All of the fresh ingredients were included in family meals, especially on Sundays. During his 45 years of service at the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company (Aquarion) he patented multiple tools that were advancements for the field at the time, attended many company picnics, and built lifelong friendships. In his spare time, he had a passion for refurbishing vintage cars. When the weather was just right or there was a special event, you could catch him driving his white 84 Cadillac with red leather seats.
In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived by his three loving children, Jennie Carfi and her husband Dominick, Mary Sienkiewicz and her husband Steve, and Peter Silano and his wife Tina; six grandchildren Carl (Nicole), Kelly (Michael), Krissy (Greg), Wendy (Todd), Karissa, and Peter; five great grandchildren Dominick, Vivienne, Antonio, Evan, and Emma; a sister Tina Silano, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Angelo, and his sisters Felicia, Carmella, and Rose.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of The Mosaic Center and Hartford HealthCare for the care and professionalism given to Peter during his time of need.
