2/18/24 Dearest Phil, Candy and extended families: I just saw the obituary of your amazing and wonderful father on my computer. I recently finally got a new computer and that is why I did not extend my sympathy to you earlier. Also, I had not even opened up my computer to catch-up on emails, facebook. etc. until just the other day. I got sick the day before Christmas Eve and had the flu for 7 weeks. It was awful. I have never, ever been sick with a flu bug for that length of time. I almost ended up in the hospital. Phil and Candy, I truly loved your Dad. He was such a delightful person. I can only imagine how much you all miss him. I loved your mother too. She was a wonderful person. When you feel sad, think about that they are reunited in Heaven together again for all eternity. When I cry and think of my fiance, Dominick that passed away 8 1/2 years ago who I miss each and every day...I think of how he suffered with the cancer that he had, and that he is now at peace and out of his pain and that someday when it is my time to leave this earth he will come for me and we too will be reunited. I am sure that your father was absolutely lost after your mother passed away. They were such a close and loving couple. May they both rest in peace in the arms of Our Lord. I miss both of my parents terribly. My dad passed away in 2007, and my mom in 2009. They were great parents to Billy and I and wonderful people too. They truly loved you Phil, and Candy. I'd like to think that the four of them are sharing a meal up in Heaven (they were such good cooks!) and they all got along so well when we were dating...I hope that you and your families are well and are in good health. I hope Candy that you are healed from your breast cancer forever. I prayed for you after I had seen you at the diner in Monroe a couple of years ago. My brother's stage 3 melanoma that he was diagnosed with when he was 20 years old never reoccured. He is now 63. So, miracles do happen!!! Of course, he unfortunately is mentally ill (paranoid schizophrenic), but he is alive which I am very thankful to God for. Again, my deepest and sincerest sympathy to you all in the loss of your beloved father. With thoughts of you and prayers, Marie-Elena Sampieri and Billy Sampieri
