To Willie, Christina, Brian, David and your respective families as well as to the Irizarry family, please know that Micki and I share in your grief at the loss of Lourdes. We are truly sorry for your loss and offer our sincere condolences. May you find peace and solace in knowing what a great person Lourdes was to all who knew her. I met Lourdes Quintana (Irizarry) when my family moved to Father Panik Village in 1960. I was 12 years old and she was 11 years old. The first person of the family that I met was her brother Nestor who was 10 years old. I later met Efren and then the rest of the kids who were younger. Lourdes was always a nice person, easy to talk to and was well liked by all the kids at that time. She had a great personality and as we got older she started singing with her siblings, Nestor, Efren and Egda. It was the oldies of the 50's and 60's and they sang a capella, no instruments. We loved to hear them sing in that hallway and sometimes the place was full of people listening to them sing. They should have been pros but did not have the right connections. Later she met Willie and shortly they became a couple, got married and had three children which they raised very proper and got them involved in sports and activities to keep them out of mischief. They did an admirable job since they all graduated from college and have good careers and families. Lourdes, you did an outstanding job in raising your family. We all have enjoyed the Willie and Lourdes' picnics, which the Quintana's love to have, especially the July 4th picnic at Strawberry Park camping grounds. We all looked forward to that event. Sometimes there were 30-40 relatives and friends there from as far as Florida, New Jersey and New York. Lourdes handled the arrangements like a pro. Lourdes, everyone that knew you will miss you. Please say hello to Efren in Heaven, tell him I miss a whole lot. God Bless You, Lourdes. Nestor Diaz

Dear Willie and family, please accept our sympathy and deepest condolences on the passing of Lourdes. I remember Lourdes well from my early days as a Civil Service Commissioner. She treated everyone with dignity and respect. She was a great employee for the City of Bridgeport and truly epitomized the understanding and knowledge of her duties and tasks. She always approached everyone with a beautiful smile. She was a true professional. May she Rest in Peace with the Lord. My wife Mary and I will keep Lourdes and your family in our prayers.
