Obituary of Silvana Cortina

Silvana (Molliconi) Cortina, age 84, of Trumbull, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Bishop Wicke in Shelton with her loving son at her side. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Gino Cortina. Born on October 12, 1939 in Ripi, Frosinone, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Luisa Delgreco Molliconi. She was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with over 27 years of dedicated service.

Silvanna was a true lover of nature. She would often be found outside tending to her vegetable garden, fruit trees and flowers in the yard. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for family and friends and traveling with her husband. But above all she loved having family gathering and seeing everyone together. Her smile would light a room when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were by her side. Silvanna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two loving children, Robert Cortina and his wife Jenny of Trumbull and Cindy Deeb and her husband Keith of Weeki Wachee, FL, five cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Jaclyn Cortina, and Matthew, Jessica and Valerie Deeb, two adored great grandchildren, David and Katherine Miner, a brother Michael Molliconi and his wife Lisa and a sister Pasqualina Lancia and her husband Mike, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Luigi Molliconi and a sister Julia Mariani.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. Trumbull.
