Obituary of Clelia Altieri

Clelia (Verrilli) Altieri, age 92, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Stefano P. Altieri, Jr. Born in Castelfranco in Miscano, Italy on July 5, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Leonarda (Di Menna) Verrilli. Mrs. Altieri was a woman of great faith and longtime member of Christ the King Church where she built many friendships volunteering and teaching catechism. She was a voracious reader and also enjoyed traveling and knitting, however, her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her four loving sons, Mark Altieri and his life partner Jacqueline Perless of Trumbull, Erik Altieri and his wife Elia Sergi of Sun City Center, FL, David Altieri and his wife AnnMarie of Stratford and Stephen Altieri of Trumbull, six cherished grandchildren, Matthew Altieri and his girlfriend Elizabeth Taylor, Brian Altieri and his wife Jessica, Erica Wood and her husband Steve, Kara Altieri and her fiancé Dylan Dobosz, Sydney Altieri and Christian Altieri, her adored great grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary and Brooklyn, her sister-in-law, Ann Verrilli, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Clelia was also predeceased by her sisters, Pierina Altieri and Maria Gagliardi and her brothers, Dominic and John Verrilli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
