Obituary of Virginia Branco Ribas

Virginia Branco Ribas, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Manuel Ribas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Born in Padroso, Montalegre, Portugal on May 7, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Jose Goncalves Branco and Rosa Esteves.

Virginia was a retired employee of the City of Bridgeport and was a nurse's aide at Bridgeport Healthcare. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who always put the needs of her family before her own. She loved spending time with her family and had a beautiful smile when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were by her side. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include four loving children, Jose (Joe) Ribas and his wife Gloria of Monroe, Antonio Ribas and his wife Janet of Shelton, Americo (Matt) Ribas of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Maria Seara and her husband Antonio of Trumbull, seven grandchildren, Shaun, Bryan, Jonathan, Michael, Catherine, Daniel and Nicole, 11 great grandchildren, Ariana, Juliana, Natasha, Jace, Asher, Adeline, Grayson, Thomas, Olivia, Sebastian and Alexandra, a great great grandson Malik, sisters, Ana Branco and Joaquina Branco, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Domingos Branco

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
