Helena was a beautiful person inside and out. I miss going to breakfast with her on Saturday mornings when she had time. She was a very dedicated and hard worker. We shared an office at Goodwill of Southern New England with me from 2015-2018. Life is very strange without her. I am looking forward to seeing again, hopefully soon.

I was one of Helena's colleagues at the VA. We worked together on some projects the last couple of years. Even after I transitioned to another team, we kept in touch and she even visited with us (my family) once and she brought some Portuguese treats, we shared life stories to encourage her and prayed together as she was dealing with doctors and treatments. Here is my attempt to an "In Memoriam" for Helena. It came as an inspiration as I was playing piano, being sad and thinking of her. To my assuring that we are still praying for her she said: "Thank you Daniel. Have a blessed Easter you and your family."

I thought the world of Helena and she shared an Office with me at the IT Dept. in the VA. We laughed and shared stories together. She'd share about her family and tell me what happened over the weekend. She would tell me about her mom, family get togethers for holidays etc. and of course cooking. She would bring me a treat once in a while from that awesome Portuguese Bakery near her house and tell me she got an expresso and fresh bread for mom. I messaged her at Easter and she said she had a nice Easter. I know her faith was very important to her and she loved God. Prayers for the family
