Obituary of Vanthi Nani
Vanthi Nani, aged 76, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of Koco Nani. Born in Polene, Korce, Albania, on February 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Qirjako and Katerina (Tollkuci) Qirici.
Vanthi was a beacon of love and support, always there for her family and friends, offering wisdom and affection abundantly. Her warm presence and love for companionship distinguished her, making every moment special for those around her. Vanthi was also a remarkable baker, having spent many years working at Korca bakery, where she forged numerous friendships. Her love for baking extended beyond her professional life, as she delighted her family and friends with delicious baked goods. Her outgoing personality and joy in companionship distinguished her, making her a cherished presence in every gathering. She had a keen memory for important dates, never missing a birthday, name day, anniversary, or special occasion, celebrating each with heartfelt festivities.
Her faith was central to her life, guiding her from her early years in Albania, through 23 years in Greece, to her membership in the St. George Albanian Orthodox Church in Trumbull, CT. She exemplified selflessness, prioritizing the needs of others in her prayers and actions. Her greatest joy stemmed from being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, Mrs. Nani will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Survived by her beloved husband, Koco, of 54 years, Vanthi is also remembered fondly by her devoted children: Olsi Nani and his wife Enkelejda, and Entela Gjylapi and her husband Sotir. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Kosta, Evan, and Nikolas Nani, Viola Andrea and her husband Vangjel, and Anesti Gjylapi and his wife Fotini. Her adored great-grandchildren, Anastasia and George Andrea, brought immense happiness to her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Ligor, Vangjel, and Vaske Qirici, along with loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Nesti Qirici.
