Obituary of Rose Marie T. Vigilio
Rose Marie T. DeLuca Vigilio, age 91, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Born in Bridgeport on November 9, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Rose) DeLuca, Sr. and was a lifelong Bridgeport area resident.
Rose Marie was a hairdresser for many years before her retirement. An active member of the community she was proud to be a member of The Red Hat Society and the Northend Senior Citizen Center in Bridgeport, where she headed many bus trips, activities and raffles. She was also very instrumental in organizing groups of friends to gather at the Westfield Mall for coffee and games but her greatest joy came from spending time with family and sharing her delicious baked treats. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her two devoted daughters, Teri Panzella and her husband Thomas and Denise Monaco and her husband Joseph, a cherished granddaughter, Alexandra Monaco and her fiancé Pablo Vega-Behar and her sister and best friend, Lorraine DellaVecchio as well as three beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Absolute Best Home Care in Westport and Vitas Hospice in Fairfield for all the care and compassion they provided to Rose Marie.
