Ray was the person who started the softball games between Fairfield and a busy firehouse in the South Bronx. Engine Co 82 and Ladder Co 31. At that time we were the busiest fire company in NYC. Ray made sure we had a good time and we sure did. I mentioned it to my daughter and she remember the good times. One weekend we had over 40 kids belonging to Fairfield and 82-31. Ray also came to the firehouse for dinner a few times. One night we were going to eat at 2130 hrs,we ate at 0500 hrs. Ray stayed. Good guy. Bill Knapp Engine Co 82 (retired)

Brian and I were so blessed to have the opportunity to spend some time in Ray's company. He was such a great guy and he was just easy to love. We know how much he meant to Lynn and to his neigbors and friends in the East Gate community. You had the feeling with Ray that if you were his friend, you were concurrently welcomed into his family. He will certainly be missed, but always remembered fondly. Lynn, you already know that you have our love and support in whatever way you might need.

My condolences to his family. He was a great guy the time I known him from the Elks He always has a smile on his face and was very well respected, and I always respected him to the fullest. Great guy He will always be missed and never forgotten.
