Obituary of Catherine H. Palovchak

Catherine Gayda Palovchak, age 90, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Raymond P. Palovchak, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in the comfort of her home. Born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Matava Gayda. Catherine was a retired administrative assistant in the real estate field for many years before her retirement.

She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her three loving daughters, Margaret Lewis and her husband Bill of Stratford, Trish Flynn and her husband Dan of Monroe and Judith Kohanowski of Oxford, six cherished grandchildren, Kathryn Lewis, Shawn and Macayla Flynn and Kyle, T.J. and Matthew Kohanowski, a brother John Gayda and his wife Geri, sister-in-law, Susan Gayda, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan M. Flynn and a brother George Gayda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. directly in in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. At Catherine's request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
