Obituary of Enrico Lisi

Enrico Lisi, age 90 of Orange, formerly of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center in Bridgeport with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Annunziata (Pernaselci) Lisi. Enrico was born in Boville Ernica, Province of Frosinone, Italy, on February 6, 1921, son of the late Lazzaro and Rosa Lisi. He was a World War II veteran of the Italian Army captured by Allied Forces during the invasion of Sicily. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1946 and spent one month on Ellis Island before being allowed entry. He found work at the Bridgeport Brass Company and remained there for 35 years. Enrico loved the company of his family and friends and most of all family dinners. He enjoyed his garden and winemaking and spent most of his 30 year retirement in his back yard. He was a friendly yet strong willed person. He was also a very generous person and willing to share whatever he had, in the 1950's and 1960's sponsoring a dozen members of his wifes family so they could come to the U.S. for a better life. He let them stay in his home until they were able to find jobs and schools to attend and make it on their own. His good company and advice, ability to fix anything and willingness to lend a helping hand until his final days will be forever missed.

Enrico was the loving father of Angelo Lisi of Milford and Linda Cella and her husband Richard of Orange; the caring grandfather of Seann Lisi and Marina and Gabrielle Cella. He is also survived by his sister Annunziata (Bartolomeo) Verelli, sisters-in-law Luisa and Marie Lisi and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Antonio and Elio Lisi, sister Liberata Sementilli and her husband Pio. 

Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. An Italian mass of the Christian Burial will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Margarets Shrine Chapel, Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
