Obituary of Celestina Roma

Celestina Paniccia Roma, age 91, of Burleson Texas, formerly of Bridgeport Connecticut. Beloved wife of the late Franco Roma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 with her family by her side. She was Born on November 10, 1933 in Frosinone, Italy she was a daughter of the late Enrico and Marianinna Paniccia.

Along with her family, they immigrated to the United States in 1967 to seek a better life and settled in Bridgeport Connecticut where she was a longtime resident.

Celestina was an incredibly dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She provided nothing but the best for her family, always sacrificing her own needs. She helped raise and took care of all her grandchildren while her own children worked. Proud of her Italian heritage, she passed on many traditions and family recipes, none more famous than her sauce. Everyone in the neighborhood looked forward to when Mrs. Roma made a pot of sauce for all to enjoy on a Sunday.

Survivors include her six loving children, Armando Roma and his wife Mafalda, Claudio Roma, Rose Cervera, Cathy Capilupi and her husband Gino, Vincenzo Roma and Marianna Hofmiller and her husband Billy, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, a sister, Elza Palmieri, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sons Alessandro Roma and Frankie Roma and a brother Fernando Paniccia.

All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2325 Park Avenue, Bridgeport.
