Obituary of Francis P. Manna
U.S. Army Veteran
Francis P. Manna, age 90, of Stratford, died on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his home. Born in Stratford on August 20, 1921, he was a son of the late Antonio and Barbara Calandrillo Manna. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Uncle Fran was very proud to serve his country and travel the lengths of the globe. He was employed at the former Bridgeport Brass and eventually retired as a supervisor from Avco Lycoming. Uncle Fran was an avid auto enthusiast, UConn womens basketball supporter, and New York Yankee fan. He also found great enjoyment in his garden where he cultivated azaleas and rhododendron. A lifetime member of the Pequonnock Yacht Club, he also enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing.
Survivors include nephews, Richard Lombardo and his wife Jean of North Branford and Joseph Lombardo, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Stratford and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Elvera Lombardo. Funeral Information
Friends may call on Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Services and burial in St. Michael Cemetery will be held privately.
