Obituary of Vincent J. Marro

Vincent Vinny J. Marro, Sr., of Bridgeport, was called to rest on July 10, 2008. Vinny was born on November 24, 1937, the son of the late Gaetano and Nellie (Pagliaro) Marro. He graduated from Bassick High School and was an avid New York Yankees Fan. He pursued many vocations as a young man, but his heart and soul was always on the baseball field. He played with many local teams, i.e., the Highlanders, Lenox A.A. and White Eagles. He did volunteer work in sports at The University of Bridgeport and Sacred Heart University. Vinny is survived by three children, Tracey Pierson of Stratford, Vincent J. Marro Jr. and Shelley Cavallaro, both of Shelton, two sisters, and Marie Jovanelly of CA and Angela Kman of Bridgeport, five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating Vinnys life will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 695 Colorado Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours.
