Uncle Richie you have been kind, understanding, loving and much much more. You showed me you cared since day one and I forever appreciate it. You’ll be truly missed. Aunt Sue I can’t even imagine the pain you’re going through but hang in there. We are here temporarily then we go back home. In time we all reunite with our loved ones. In the early 1990s I was contemplating whether or not to join the service. Though I used to have discussions with my own father, who served in the navy from 1958-1964, I was nervous to discuss the possibility of enlisting with my parents so I turned to the next best source. I remember him telling me how proud he was to have served in the Corps, but that he felt because of my mechanical background he thought the Navy would be a better fit for me. I can honestly say that aside from my own father, "Uncle Richie" was the next biggest influence on my decision to serve which ultimately resulted in a 21 Year career with the US Navy/Navy Reserve that I could be proud of and I am eternally grateful. Rest easy Devil-Dog, we have the watch
