Mrs. Ida Bernabei Branca, born on September 12th, 1937, died peacefully at home on Friday, September 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving and devoted family after a period of failing health.
She was born to Antonio Bernabei and Colomba Barbati Bernabei from Secinaro, L'Aquila, Italy. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Michael Branca, who she was married to for 69 years, her sister Eleanor and her brothers Patrick and Ralph Bernabei and by her grandson Nicholas. She is survived by her five children Anthony (Elaine), Ralph (Susan), Emma, Christopher (Kathy) and Jeffrey (Marcie), 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, as well as her two sisters Loreta and Sandra that she considered her own and many nieces and nephews. She loved her doctor Frank Spano as a son and the family could never thank him enough for all he did for her. She also leaves behind a multitude of long-time friends many of whom she considered her extended family.
In her lifetime she mastered many hobbies including painting, playing the organ, sewing, jewelry making, gardening, and decorating. She transmitted to her children a love of fine Italian cooking and culture, but her greatest love was her family and helping those in need.
